About Us

About Faculty\r\nThe Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Natural Resources consists of five departments: the Department of Environmental Sciences, the Department of Geology, the Department of Renewable Energy, the Department of Marine Resources, and the Department of Land Resources. We, the faculty, are committed to making the student our center of attention, and we are working to create a collaborative learning environment that is challenging, interdisciplinary, and skill-based. Our goal is to educate and train the current and future generations of professional students in the fields of ecology, management, and investment in local natural resources. We are also working to confront climate change, water scarcity, energy challenges, urban sprawl, pollution, over-consumption, waste management, natural resources depletion, and extinction.\r\nThe urgent solution to these problems requires adopting new approaches that meet the student’s needs in this field of science. The Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources at Misrata University is the right place to study these and other environmental issues critically to arrive at sustainable scientific solutions. We are committed to preparing our undergraduate and postgraduate students to be able to meet current and expected environmental challenges that are complex, diverse, and rapidly changing across space and time.\r\n

Our Dean

Dean’s Word
At Misurata University, we guide you professionally to be an excellent environmental supervisor and a manager of natural resources (renewable and non-renewable) for the advancement of humanity.
The following areas characterize the academic circle within the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources:
Educating, training, and developing students’ capacity for leadership in the management of natural resources. These resources are the anchors of life support systems for living organisms by reducing the harmful effects of human activities on the environment.
Providing the necessary consulting services to disseminate research activities, training, products, and services related to the environment in a manner consistent with the principles of environmental protection, including greenhouse gases, wetland drainage, desertification, and the preservation of natural resources.
Creating awareness about ecosystem health issues and the best practices in environmental management, environmental legislation, and policies for our student clients, employees, the local community and other stakeholders.
Seeking to inform and enlighten users of natural resources in the process of mainstreaming human-related environmental impacts towards low-carbon development initiatives (climate-resilient development with a focus on carbon sinks through green environment activities).
